Remove all screws from the bottom case.
Pry up and remove the bottom case.
When the bottom case removed, you can get access to the battery, SSD, wireless card, RAM, heat sink, cooling fan, speakers, CMOS battery and motherboard.
Remove six screws securing the battery and disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard, you can remove the battery.
HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 features a 11.1, 42WH Li-ion battery. HP P/N: 722236-1C1, HSTNN-W02C.
Remove the RAM.
HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 features a Sk hynix memory.
Disconnect two antenna cables and remove one screw securing the w ireless card. You can remove the wireless card.
HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 comes with Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 wireless card. HP P/N: 717379-001.
Remove one screw securing the SSD and take it out from M.2 NGFF slot.
THe HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 features Intel 180GB M.2 SSD, HP P/N: 729661-001.
Remove all screws securing the heat sink and cooling fan and disconnect cooling fan cable from the motherboard.
HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 comes with two cooling fans. They attached on one heat sink.
