Can iDevice Be Upgraded After Jailbreak

Many iPhone users asked me that if they can upgrade their iDevice after jailbreak? Can iDevice be upgraded using /iTunes after jailbreak?

* Can iDevice be upgraded after jailbreak?

Jailbreak tools are for some special iOS versio ns to jailbreak, but not every iOS version is supported to be jailbroken. For instance, you’ve jailbroken your iDveice running on iOS 10.1, and then you upgrade it to iOS 10.2. At this moment you may find that the Cydia still exists, but all the jailbreak tweaks you installed before are gone. When you launch Cydia, it may get crashed, and this may damage your iDevice. For a new iOS version, Apple keeps fixing the bugs, so as people said jailbreak tool for iOS 10.3.x and above is almost dead.

So don’t upgrade your iPhone after jailbreak. Because iOS version below 9.0.2 belongs to untethered jailbrerak, it will close iDevice’s OTA upgrade automatically so as to stop you from receiving the iOS update notification reminder. But for iOS 9.0.2 and above, they belongs to tethered jailbrerak, and now you need to manually close iOS update notification reminder on your iDevice.

Of course, you may use iTunes directly upgrade your iDveice ,but it can not guarantee that the unknown error won’t happen during the upgrading process.

In order to avoid trouble, you’re suggested to set your iDevice to DFU mode first and then upgrade it. Remember to update /iTunes to the latest version before you upgrade your iDevice.
