Android Fix Unfortunately gallery has stopped error

The unfortunately gallery has stopped error ,mostly affects Android smartphones running stock OS

like Cyanogenmod. However, some users running the factory version of the Android OS may also get this error. This error message pops up after opening the camera app. Sometimes the camera app opens fine but then gives the gallery error when you swipe to see the recent pictures. Many users have resolved this error by simply restarting their smartphone. Others have fixed it by clearing app caches. Below are all the methods to help you fix the un fortunately gallery has stopped error in Android devices:

Method 1: Resetting App Preferences

1. Go to Settings >> Tap menu button or the three dots on the top right 
2. Select "Reset/restore app preferences" >> Okay
3. Now open your camera app and try to view the pictures
4. Also open the gallery app and see if the error pops up or not

Method 2:  Clear cache and data of Camera and Gallery app

Before you perform the below steps make sure you copy all of your photos in the camera gallery to your PC or an external microSD card. 

1. Go to Settings >> Apps or application manager
2. Scroll down and select "Camera" >> Tap  "Force Stop" and "Clear Data"
3. Go back, scroll down and select "Gallery" >> Tap  "Force Stop" and "Clear Data"
4. Now open your Camera and take a picture 
5. If theres no error, youve resolved the gallery error

Method 3: Reinstalling GAPPs and OS

This is a last resort fix for custom ROM users. If you are constantly getting the error even after performing all the above fixes, then its time to backup all your data and perform a factory reset. You can use Titanium backup to backup your apps/games data. Custom ROM users will have to first copy the zip files of the Android OS and GApps into their main folder or storage. Then reboot into recovery, wipe data and cache partition. After than simply install the zip files and reboot system
